Junior Optimist
OCO Youth Group comprised of 7th and 8th grade students interested in volunteering in the community. Membership is required to play on a 7th or 8th grade OCO basketball team; however, membership is open to any 7th / 8th grade student.
From September 1 to August 31, a Junior Optimist is considered a member in “good-standing” when they attend/participate in a minimum of the following:
- 4 meetings
- 3 OCO sponsored events
- 3 community service events
In addition, members cannot be inactive for two consecutive quarters (October to December, January to March, April to June, and July to September) or else they are ineligible to play in tournaments and play on any OCO team until they reinstate themselves. If they do not reinstate themselves, they will not be invited back to play in the following season.
